http://www.gooooogle.com/ is as far as the real Google domains go it seems -- after that it's various parking scams (the damned "What you need, when you need it" rears its ugly head once again; sedoparking would be a profitable investment) and even some rather neat clone done by someone claiming to be "Martin Sewell" in the meta tag. There are three clear give-aways there though -- first, the "author" meta tag, like I said; second, the fact that the source code is far too nicely formatted XHTML for the official Google page (I checked it just now and it's still one hell of a soup -- then again, I think that's part of Google's "optimisation" strategy that comes with a tiny bit of obscuration); and third, Google doesn't use statcounter to measure its page views.

Just to follow up my comment in your later post, what's wrong with getting tired of looking at those ridiculous "push the button" banners, or those moronic ads that try to trick unsuspecting people into "closing" them by actually clicking on them? It's 2008, and yet you can still see them when you're not using an adblocker!

Hey, I'm viewing this page with Firefox and Adblock+Flashblock now! :P I forget what annoying banner ads look like sometimes, and it surprises me when I use an "unprotected" browser. I'm not bothered about hunting out every last harmless Google AdWords box, but those damned ugly popup "definition" ads are incredibly frustrating, along with the looping Flash animations that are worse than the GIFs of the 90s in that they often grind my PC to a halt... But that might just be my habit of having far too many tabs open at once, lol.

I do wonder about possibly getting some actual content on my own site(s) in order to "moneti(s/z)e" it, but I still have trouble believing that there are some people who actually click on and follow the links they see in online adverts...

"You might have dup content and not know it. Now to a human www.noloafing.co.uk and noloafing.co.uk are the same site."

Actually, Google wont do shit regarding this, how they mean is having endless pages with the same content, ie

"loafing.co.uk site copied to;
asite.co.uk
anothersite.co.uk
yetanothersite.co.uk
andyetanothersite.co.uk
omganothersitetospamgoogle.co.uk
hahahahaiowntop8ongoogle.co.uk"

And you can still do that and get around it.

What's more important is to ensure your site doesn't look like or advertise as just a plain "Adsense Template" or just purely there to earn money.

Though also if you duplicate your index.html and have it as *keyword*.html and have the same content then it will start to click on, although if your doing that, your content should always generally be relevant to the keywords anyway!

Happened to a tonne of PR0 Sites of mine, suddenly jumpted to PR2 or PR3

If you didnt know what caused it, you really shouldnt be posting about SEO :)

BTW, You will notice alot of sites got BUMP'D and alot got PWND, Alot of bigger sites dropped page rank, infact if you search, theres an endless groan of "Damn my pagerank got nurfed".

But as i stated on my other post, page rank is ultimately pointless.

Generally test all content live on a /test folder, and then generally speaking it gones;

1, Alpha
2, Beta
3, Live

I like to keep a track of the changes.
